the idea is: turn off your TV for a week. The organizations

going a week without sitting in front of the TV set. |

Started in 1994, with the first event happening in 1995,
TV-Turnoff Week was begun in the USA, but has spread to Canada,
the UK and other countries around the world. More than 24
million people have 10)participated
over the last eleven years. |

going on all week. Groups from Columbia, Australia, Brazil,
Japan, Taiwan, Italy and Mexico participated in the event last

without the idiot box. In the end, the organizations hope people
will reduce their watching time, and 27)engage
