  While dogs are often praised for being loyal and the go-to choice for security, another creature offers a surprisingly effective alternative: the goose. Gaji bags are a true icon of Taiwan
  Gaji bags, traditional Taiwanese shopping bags, are colorful woven nylon bags commonly used for shopping or as an everyday bag. They are also known as “Grandma bags” because in the past, older women often carried them when shopping at local markets.
   Gaji bags were first made in the rural village of Jing Liao in northern Tainan during the Japanese colonial period. The original bags were made by hand from natural plants. During Taiwan’s industrialization in the 1960s, manufacturers began making them with red, blue, and green nylon.
  茄芷袋絕對稱得上是臺灣之光。
