海斯先生:我們需要加強我們的溝通。每一位經理都應當知道別的部門在做什麼。從今天起,每個月的第一個星期三,我們都要舉行午餐會議。公司負責供應午餐。
洛蓓塔:海斯先生,您覺得真的有這個必要嗎?我的意思是說,我們都有電子郵件信箱。我們可以用電腦溝通。
海斯先生:也許可以,但我們不要這樣做。用開會的方法,我們才能確定每個人都被知會到了。

Mr. Hayes:First, I want to thank you all for doing an excellent job. However, I think we can do better.
Bill:What do you mean?
Mr. Hayes:We need to improve our communication. All managers should know what the other departments are doing. Starting today, we will have a lunch meeting on the first Wednesday of every month. The company will provide lunch.
Roberta:Do you think this is really necessary, Mr. Hayes? I mean, we all have e-mail. We can communicate that way.
Mr. Hayes:Maybe we can, but we don’t. This way, we will be sure to keep one another informed.
