One cause of pollution and global warming is too much carbon4
dioxide5. Global warming can make huge
weather changes around the world. Not only has it affected6
the weather, but it has also had an unexpected7
side effect8: people are moving because
their land is either drying up or flooding9.
As people move in great numbers to escape10
bad conditions11, they cause problems
at their new destinations12 because
their numbers are so large. Some areas have more rain than ever
before, while others have less, causing crop13
failures14. Some people can't adapt15
quickly and when the food runs out, they move, leaving land vacant16.
They are occupying17 border18 areas
where governments are not prepared to take more people. The weather
has changed, forced people to move, and given governments around
the world a whole new set of problems. Immigration laws change,
but not as quickly as they should.
Are we willing to give up our polluting habits?
