Foreign workers hold a demonstration
Foreign labor rights groups urged the Council of Labor Affairs to amend labor laws so that foreign laborers can extend their stay in Taiwan in cases where there is a labor dispute. Some 30 foreign migrant workers protested outside the CLA building. The workers, from the Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand, say they are owed three months' salary by their employer, a factory in Taipei County, but may be forced to leave the country before their case is resolved.

外籍勞工示威抗議
外籍勞工人權團體強烈要求勞委會修正勞基法，讓外籍勞工有勞資糾紛時能夠延長他們待在臺灣的時間。大約有三十名外籍勞工在勞委會大樓外抗議。來自菲律賓、越南和泰國的勞工表示，一家臺北縣工廠的雇主欠他們三個月的薪資，不過在事情解決之前他們可能會被迫遣返回國。

Chance for cross-strait flight agreement look good
Taiwan and China have reached a consensus on negotiating terms for direct charter flights during the Lunar New Year holiday. It seems that technical problems will be solved with further talks. Cabinet Spokesman Chen Chi-mai said that practical negotiations over direct charter flights for Lunar New Year will bear fruit, and that both sides will eventually hammer out a mutually acceptable solution.

兩岸直飛協議希望濃
臺灣和中國商談春節包機達成共識。技術問題看起來會在進一步商談中獲得解決。行政院發言人陳其邁表示，春節包機實際商談會有結果，雙方最終會想出彼此都可以接受的解決方案。
