學習重點

本週英文片語學的是 give up，除了放棄的意思外，戒掉某種習慣也可以用 give up。英文句型 I don't feel like，就是 I don't want to 的意思，不過要注意後面的動詞要用進行式。英文諺語 The show must go on. 是很常用的句子，美國搖滾樂團 Queen寫過一首蠻經典的歌曲，歌名就是The Show Must Go On。紅磨坊電影裡面也有出現同名的歌，可見這句諺語的不朽，學員一定要記起來。最後，一週大事摘錄了台灣股市和亞利安五號火箭的新聞，訓練一下自己的聽力和閱讀能力。

Stock prices to rise
Analysts have mentioned that the stock market may move higher as trading resumes after the Lunar New Year holidays, as better-than-expected US stock markets and optimism about political tensions may boost investors' confidence. Even though the political uncertainty and the implementation of a new accounting rule that requires Taiwanese companies to disclose potential asset impairment stemming from long-term investments, the appointment of new Premier Frank Xie and landmark direct flights across the Taiwan Strait have created a better situation.

股市看漲
分析師表示，農曆春節後股市恢復交易，行情看漲，美股表現亮麗，加上對政治緊張局勢相當樂觀，增強了投資者的信心。即使政治不確定，新的商業會計法開始實施，台灣企業必須公開長期投資發生的潛在資產減損。不過謝長廷接任閣揆，還有春節直飛包機對股市相當有利。

Ariane-5 Rocket Orbits Satellites
Europe's most powerful rocket, the Ariane 5 heavy rocket, which carries with two satellites on board, was sent into orbit from Kourou, French Guiana, Arianespace said from its headquarters outside Paris. A half-hour after launch, Ariane released two satellites into stationary orbits: a Spanish military communications satellite and a German-built experimental spacecraft, which will study the behavior of fluids in orbit.

亞利安五號火箭將衛星送入軌道
歐洲最強的火箭亞利安五號重型火箭，上面載著兩個人造衛星，在法屬幾內亞的庫洛送上軌道，法國亞利安太空在巴黎郊外的太空總部表示。升空半小時後，亞利安將兩台人造衛星放到固定軌道，一台是西班牙軍方通訊衛星，另一台是德製實驗太空船，目的要研究軌道中的液體性質。
