Paris supports Tokyo's seat for UNSC
Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi and French President Jacques Chirac began talks and expected to touch on European Union plans to lift its embargo on selling arms to China. Chirac, who earlier visited the World Exposition in central Japan, entered a meeting with Koizumi at a state guesthouse. France reclaimed support for Japan to become a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
Nonstop flight between Guangzhou and Frankfurt
The first nonstop flight from Guangzhou to Frankfurt in Germany will depart soon. The flight, launched by Lufthansa Airlines, will reduce the travel time between the two cities by five hours. Previously, flights between Guangzhou and Frankfurt took at least 17 hours, including a stopover in Shanghai or Beijing. The flight will be operated by Lufthansa's state-of-the-art Airbus A340-600 aircraft, which features new business class with the longest flat seat in its class worldwide.
