is an Italian film written and directed by Giuseppe Tornatore.
It was produced by Franco Cristaldi and Giovanna Romagnoli,
scored by Ennio Morricone. The story begins with a man
who receives news from his aging mother that someone he
once knew has passed away. As the plot unfolds, the viewer
learns about his childhood friendship with an old man
who was the projectionist at the local theater. Together,
they experienced both triumph and tragedy, and their bond
shaped the way for a young boy to grow and move out of
his rundown village to pursue a dream.
