1. Visiting a Farm
Steve and Anna are walking around Taiwan Happy Farm.

S: Here we are! This is the farm I told you about yesterday: Taiwan Happy Farm!
A: Wow, this place is huge!
S: It’s at the mouth of Hualien River, so the whole area is flat and spacious.
A: Look at those horses!
S: They’re beautiful. (They walk to a pond.) Wow! Swans, flamingos . . . And look at those green-headed ducks!
A: They are the male mallards. The female’s head is brown. (They continue to another part of the farm.)
S: Let’s buy some grass to feed the deer.
A: That’s a good idea! This place is so much fun! I can’t believe it’s open to the public for free.
S: Let’s post some photos and check in to this location on Facebook.
A: Yeah. I’d love to recommend it to my friends.
2. Talking about the Day’s Activities
Steve arrives home after a fun day at Taiwan Happy Farm. His sister, Rosy, is home.

R: Hey, how was the farm?
S: It was fun! There were so many animals, but Anna got bitten by a swan.
R: Yikes! Is she OK?
S: Her hand was a little red, but she took it like a champ. You should come along next time.
R: (Uninterested) Yeah, sounds great.
S: Yeah, you wouldn’t like it anyway. I mean why would you want to feed a deer?
R: (Excited) There are deer there? (Steve nods.) Then count me in!
