Mark: Are you going to take some time off this summer?
Paul: Of course! We all need a break to recharge our batteries! And we're taking a staycation.
Mark: You're staying home? That's not a vacation.
Paul: Sure it is. We plan to relax and visit local attractions that we never take time to see.
Mark: But staying home doesn't feel like a vacation. There is nothing new to look forward to.
Paul: Yes, there is. My wife and I are already talking about it. We're planning an “Around the World Day” where we'll pick a country to visit. Then we'll go out to dinner at a restaurant that serves that cuisine and watch a film from that country.
Mark: But doesn't staying in a hotel automatically put you in vacation-mode?
Paul: Maybe. But to tell you the truth, I prefer to sleep in my own bed. After a good night's rest, I'll be better prepared for a new adventure each day.
Mark: Will a staycation really allow you to return to work refreshed?
Paul: Sure. We'll get out and do something fun and interesting every day.
Mark: Then no matter whether you choose a vacation or staycation, the emphasis should be on fun and relaxation, right?
Paul: Right!
