Tom: You're working hard, Kate.
Kate: Not really! I'm paying my bills. I just paid my phone bill, my power bill and my cable bill! Most of my bills are due at the beginning of the month. I like to pay them a little early.
Emma: Do you pay all your bills online?
Kate: I pay most of them online.
Tom: Do you pay your rent online too?
Kate: No. I mail a check to my landlord for my rent.
Emma: I don't pay any bills online. I mail all of them.
Kate: But paying bills online is easy. Why do you mail them?
Emma: I want to keep track of my bills. It is easier for me if I mail them.
Kate: Do you pay your bills online, Tom?
Tom: No, I usually mail them. But sometimes I deliver them.
Emma: Why?
Tom: I don't always pay them on time. When they're late, I have to take them to the companies.
Kate: That's careless.
Tom: I know. But I'm thankful. I have a job and can make money. So I can pay my bills.
湯姆：凱特，妳很用功呢。
凱特：不是啦！我是在繳帳單。我剛繳了電話帳單、電費帳單和有線電視的帳單！
凱特：我的帳單大部分是在月初到期，我喜歡早點繳清。
艾瑪：妳所有帳單都在網路上繳納嗎？
凱特：大部分都是。
湯姆：妳的房租也是在網路上繳嗎？
凱特：不是，我的房租都是寄支票給房東。
艾瑪：我不在網路上繳交任何帳單，我都是用郵寄的。
凱特：可是在網路上繳帳單很容易呀，妳為什麼用郵寄的？
艾瑪：我要記錄所有的帳單，用郵寄的比較容易歸檔。
凱特：湯姆，你會在網路上繳帳單嗎？
湯姆：不會，我通常也用郵寄的，有時候還親自送去。
艾瑪：為什麼？
湯姆：我不一定會準時繳。如果遲繳了，就得親自拿帳單到公司行號去繳錢。
凱特：你真是粗心大意。
湯姆：我知道。可是我很感恩，我還有工作，可以賺錢。我才能繳納我的帳單。
