(Emma and Jack are in the Jungle Cafe. Kate comes in.)
Emma: Hey, Kate. I'll be with you in a minute.
Kate: Thanks, Emma.
Jack: Are you OK?
Kate: I'm having trouble with the new co-worker.
Jack: Isn't he a good worker?
Kate: He's a great worker. But he is a little rude when he wants to get my attention!
Jack: Oh, really?
Emma: Does he interrupt you?
Kate: All the time!
Emma: That always bothers me.
Kate: Well, he's just nervous. He'll get better.
Emma: You hope!
Jack: There used to be a worker in the music store. He always hit my arm and said,“Jack! Buddy!”
Emma: Was he your buddy?
Jack: Not really!
Emma: So what did you do about that worker?
Jack: I said,“If you want my attention, tap me on the shoulder.”
Emma: That was good.
Kate: Emma! I'm sorry to interrupt, but can I order now?
Emma: Oh! I'm sorry! Of course!

艾瑪：嘿，凱特，我等一下就過來。
凱特：艾瑪，謝了。
傑克：妳還好嗎？
凱特：我不知要如何與我的新同事共事。
傑克：他不是很好的員工嗎？
凱特：他是個很棒的員工，可是當他想引起我注意的時候，總是有點粗魯，不太有禮貌！
傑克：哦，真的嗎？
艾瑪：他會打擾妳做事嗎？
凱特：沒完沒了哪！這種情形總是讓我很困擾。
凱特：嗯，其實他只是緊張而已，他會改進的。
艾瑪：妳還真是一廂情願呢！
傑克： 以前音樂唱片行有個員工，他總是會打我的手臂，對我說：「傑克！好兄弟！」
艾瑪：他是你的好兄弟嗎？
傑克：不算是！
艾瑪：結果你如何對待那個員工？
傑克：我說：「你如果想引起我的注意，拍拍我的肩膀就好。」
艾瑪：這樣很好。
凱特：艾瑪！很抱歉打擾你們講話，可是我能不能點餐了？
艾瑪：喔！真抱歉！當然可以！
