Monuments to Love
Aristotle is believed to have said, “Love is composed of
a single soul inhabiting two bodies.” When those two people find each other and
the soul is reunited, anything is possible. In fact, some of the world's most
incredible works are the result.
One of the most famous monuments to love is India's Taj Mahal.
Located in Agra, this amazing structure was built by the Emperor Shah Jahan upon the
death of his favorite wife in the early 1600s. The center building shines in white
marble, a symbol of the purity of the emperor's love. The walls inside and out are
covered with beautiful designs and precious stones. Today, millions of visitors come
each year to see what a man's love for his wife created.
