Taiwan's version of the Navy SEALs is the ARP Frogmen.
臺灣版的海豹部隊就是兩棲蛙人。
On January 8, 2008, two women made history when they completed nine weeks of hardcore training to become the first-ever frogwomen in Taiwan's military. Cheng Chih-ya and Hsu Yu-ting survived the brutal course that is loaded with mental and physical punishment as well as many endurance tests. At the beginning, there were 118 recruits, but at the end, only 44 made it through. Cheng and Hsu were treated just like any of the other soldiers and earned the right to be frogwomen, who, like their male counterparts, are very highly trained soldiers in Taiwan's military.
This month, National Geographic Channel's (NGC) cameras are allowed into this secret world in Taiwan's Elite Warriors: ARP Frogmen. Viewers will get to see what makes these men and women want to take the challenge of getting into the toughest special forces in Taiwan's military. The candidates need to be strong because they will be taking a lot of orders from harsh instructors. The candidates are pushed to the brink many times and still have to be able to make proper decisions. As a matter of fact, there is one test, called Hell Week, when no one sleeps for 132 hours straight. If that wasn't enough stress, a typhoon hits Taiwan at this time, which makes everything even more intense.
The final and most rigorous test is called the Road to Heaven. The candidates that are left are forced to exercise and use their bodies to crawl 50 meters over rugged rocks and jagged coral. This test simulates an assault on a rocky beach. Only the strong survive to become Taiwan's Elite Warriors: ARP Frogmen.
