There have been many outstanding composers of classical music. Three of them are Johann Sebastian Bach, George Friedrich Handel, and Joseph Haydn.
Bach was a German composer and organist from the Baroque Period. He composed numerous works of music, including organ music, concertos, cantatas, and a lot of choral music for the church. The Brandenburg Concertos, Jesus, Joy of Man’s Desiring, and St.Matthew Passion are some of his best-known works.
Handel was another German Baroque composer. However, Handel mostly lived in England and composed music with English lyrics. Handel is best known for his compositions based on stories from the Bible. The famous Messiah, which is performed by an orchestra and a chorus, is one of these pieces. It includes the Hallelujah Chorus, one of the most popular works in all classical music.
Haydn lived after Bach and Handel during the Classical Period. He is sometimes called the Father of the Symphony. He composed more than one hundred symphonies. The Surprise Symphony and The Creation are his best-known symphonies. People also remember him for being the teacher of Ludwig van Beethoven, one of the greatest of all classical composers.
