One well-known Bible story that has been told
and retold is about a man named Noah who is instructed by God to build
an ark. He does so, and as a result, Noah's family and many animals of
the world survive a terrible flood. Did this really happen, or is it
just a popular legend?
People have been searching for signs of Noah's
ark for centuries. The Bible clearly states that the ark's final resting
place is in the mountains of Ararat. This has caused ark hunters to search
for it on Mt. Ararat in eastern Turkey. They may be on the right track. An
old photo from the CIA shows a shape under snow and ice there that looks
like a huge ship. A more recent satellite photo confirms the shape, but
some scientists believe that it's just a natural rock shape.
