胰島素 ── 糖尿病友的一線生機 The Past 100 Years of Insulin

　　Insulin is produced in the organ called the pancreas. It is a necessary hormone required by our bodies to regulate the sugar levels in our blood. People with diabetes are unable to produce insulin or adequate amounts of insulin. Without insulin, nutrients cannot be correctly distributed to vital organs throughout the body. As a result, these organs slowly shut down until the body dies.

　　胰島素是由叫作胰臟的器官所製造。它是我們身體調節血液中血糖濃度的必要賀爾蒙。糖尿病患無法製造胰島素或無法製造足夠的胰島素。少了胰島素，養分就無法正確地被分送到身體的重要器官。因此，這些器官會慢慢地衰竭，直到身體死去。

Emojis might be a new global language.
　　The first set of emojis was released in 1997 by the Japanese company SoftBank, previously known as J-Phone. The set included 90 distinct emoji characters in black and white. Since J-Phone experienced low sales, the emoji set was rarely used. It was not until Shigetaka Kurita created the 176 emojis for the Japanese phone company Docomo in 1999 that emojis became a worldwide phenomenon.

表情符號可能是一種新的全球語言。
　　第一組表情符號在 1997 年由日本公司 SoftBank（先前被稱作 J-Phone）釋出。那組表情符號包含了九十種不同的黑白表情符號。由於 J-Phone 當時銷量不好，所以那組表情符號很少被使用。一直到 1999 年栗田穰崇為日本電信公司 Docomo 所創造的一百七十六個表情符號，表情符號才成為一個全球現象。
