Over 30 years ago, Dr. Carl Sagan captured the world's attention with his views of the Pale Blue Dot—the Earth. He presented them on Cosmos, the award-winning program aired on the Public Broadcasting Service. In the 13-part series, Dr. Sagan presented the universe in a way that appealed to the general public. He spoke using terms that were understandable to non-scientific people and related the exploration of space to that of the Earth by past pioneers.
Now, that torch has been passed to Neil deGrasse Tyson, the famed astrophysicist and director of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. Tyson teams up with National Geographic Channel to bring viewers a new 13-part series that carries on the spirit of the original show. Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey takes viewers on adventures that help them understand their relationship to other humans, life on Earth, and the rest of the universe. Just as in the original series, the Ship of the Imagination will transport viewers through space and time. For an epic journey through science and space, don't miss Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey on NGC..
